The more you know, right? Florida State University, like most universities, abounds with involvement and leadership opportunities. You just have to know where to look for them. This is easier said than done, so here are five things to do at FSU.

5. Free Personal Training
If you’re anything but an athlete, the gym can be a scary place. There are lots of machines with numbers and pulleys and hinges that you don’t know how to work. That’s okay! If you’re a student at FSU, you get three, free sessions with a “nationally-accredited, certified personal trainer.” Whether you use this to get started on FSU’s plethora of health/fitness resources or as a precursor to signing up for premium training, it’s a great way to develop a manageable, diverse fitness plan for your time at the University.

4. Friday Night Swing Dancing
We have this. I’ve been. It’s fantastic. They teach you to swing dance, then turn you loose and everyone dances. It’s a great time and a great way to get to know people from different academic focuses. It is a great thing to do at FSU and you’ll come out a better dancer. Check out the Swing Dance Club Facebook page here!

3. Circus Shows
Guys, we have a circus. We’re one of only two colleges that have circuses and we’re the only one with our own big top. If there’s one thing you must do at FSU, it’s go to the circus. If you do nothing else on this list, do this. Our performers are student volunteers from all different majors and – trust me – you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a biology major do a backflip.

2. Council Positions
Not many people know that serving on Hall Council or the Honors Student Association board are things you can do at FSU. Newsflash: everything is run by someone and nine times out of ten, that someone is a student or group of students. Organizations like the HC and HSA are great about emailing opportunities to students, but there are so many more available within student groups. Want to organize TEDx talks? There’s a committee for that.

1. Research Overseas
This your average study abroad program (but we do have one of those.) This is the Global Scholars Program, which helps students obtain summer internships in developing countries. Students teach, do research, and all manner of other service projects in addition to receiving valuable training and experience. It’s an amazing opportunity to learn and serve, and scholarships are available.
