Job Opportunities Handed to Spartans
With the help of the Career Services Network and MySpartanCareer.com, the Spartans of Michigan State University have the opportunity to avoid minimum wage and advance directly to higher paying jobs.
These services are available to all MSU students, as well as, alumni within two years of their graduation date.
MySpartanCareer.com is just one of the many resources available that students should take full advantage of. This website allows a student to create a personal profile that will advertise their skills and experience for employers to see. It encourages students to upload their resumes, published pieces and other documents that will help them stand out from the crowd.
This website basically does the job search for you.
“(The website) is helpful in that it guides people in the field they are pursuing,” said Journalism student Kyna Garrett.
It provides a list of suitable jobs and internships that will grant the specific experiences desired for future careers. By utilizing the job search bar, anyone can find an opportunity that will benefit their major or interests. Everything about the desired job will be listed including wage, the amount of hours, job description and how to apply.
Besides gathering job opportunities, this website also informs students about job preparation events. These events include Speed Networking, career fairs, and resume critique sessions. All of these events are geared towards preparing students for their interviews with potential employers.
In an economy where jobs are hard to keep and even more difficult to find, the Spartan Career Services Network is doing their part in assuring that students have the resources to make their mark in the job market.
